Aniston as Treya
July 19th, 2006
Wilber, the Integral Institute, and Integral Theory may go Hollywood and get a massive bump in publicity. Jennifer Aniston has signed on to play Treya, Ken’s deceased wife, who he immortalized in Grace and Grit - according to Ken Wilber’s blog.
Some surreal, tabloid-worthy lines from Clint’s post:
…After being approached by Producer/Director Steven Brill, regarding the vision to bring Grace and Grit to the silver screen, Kristin took the book to a meeting with Jen, who, upon seeing it, said, “I know that book, what are you doing with that book?”
It turned out that Jen was intimately familiar with the book as she and Brad had read it to each other when they were together. Over the next week, one thing led to another and Jen was asked to play Treya in the movie adaptation. She accepted.
This is beyond awesome. Grace and Grit is the ultimate Integral Theory “gateway” book - highly readable and extremely moving. The project could stall, or take another route, but the possibility is huge news for the Integral community. Given Aniston’s power in Hollywood, I’m betting the film gets made.

Whoa…
This could bring about all kinds of wackiness in the Integral Universe.
By the way, there’s a party over at the new IV Heartmind Forum, and you’re invited.

Fine book, but how can it be made into a movie?
Should information on cancer be given to the public, circa 1986 — effectively misinforming everyone!?
Also, as a movie, it seems to me it would come off as collosally depressing.
Some books do not do well as movies. The intimacy of the book gets fully lost.

Good points, Tom. I would avoid this movie if it was about anyone else. Hadn’t thought about the cancer info - I hope they do update it, or at least leave things vague.
Still, given the high quality of the book and the opportunity to communicate Wilber’s theory, I have high hopes.
